11/27/2002: In the guestbook, there was a question from Nick Koroulis about his inability to submit his information using the form. The reason he cannot submit is because he has no e-mail access through the library computer and that is how the form is submitted. This is a dilemma which I had not anticipated and I am pretty sure will not be experienced by many others using the page but is something which warrants consideration. As I explained in the guestbook, there are at least a couple solutions. The first would be to sign up to use a 'form service' much like the one used for the guestbook where, when you submit your information, you are redirected to another site where you have to put up with some advertising before actually submitting the data. Another solution is pretty technical and involves using what is called CGI scripts and requires some programming skills which I have not yet developed. I might be able to 'borrow' a program that will do that and we have rights to such activity on the server we are using so I might investigate that possibility. Until such time as I can get something like that up and running (If indeed I can find such a program) we must either use the e-mail form or sign up with a service. If you have an opinion, send us e-mail and let us know by clicking here
11/29/2002: I was able to utilize a new way of submitting forms which are used in the 'What Have You Been Up To' and 'Personal Info' pages where they are not sent via e-mail but rather through a process known as CGI. So now, anybody, even those who do not have an e-mail address but access through a public internet connection and those who use AOL, can send the form. Let me know if you experience any difficulty so I can investigate further. Otherwise, this new process should solve a couple potential problems. Thanks for the feedback on this issue!
11/30/2002: I have received several comments either by e-mail or in the guestbook concerning colors of background, text and links. I sat down with my wife tonight and we came up with a set of colors that is appealing to us and I have incorporated that scheme in all the pages on the site. I hope these are pleasing and easy to read for you on your browser. If you would like to send me a comment, feel free in doing so at webmaster@rhsclassof62.com
12/1/2002: Just a quick note about sending e-mails from this site. If you click a button that is labeled 'Webmaster', you will be sending an e-mail to me, the author of this site and the person who makes changes. If you send an e-mail labeled 'Send Us Mail' it will go to Ray Martin, myself and anybody else responsible for this site. So, if you have a question or comment about the site itself and how it is designed and put together, send mail to the Webmaster. Otherwise, send it by clicking the other button so the people of authority will receive it. If I receive an e-mail I believe should go elsewhere, I will forward it on as well.
12/1/2002: Here is a procedural note that will assure you get the most current version of each page. It is usually a good idea to click on your 'Refresh' or 'Reload' button after going to a page you have not been to for some time. This will automatically load the most recent version of that page from the server. Otherwise, you may be looking at a cached version (one stored on your hard drive from a previous visit). Your browser would much rather pull a cached version of the page than to download one from the internet because it is faster to do so.
12/5/2002: Check out the 'Contacts' page, two new people were added and Ray Martin's info was made available. Also, a picture of Roy & Linda West was added to the 'Gallery' page (what a handsome couple!). I hope this encourages you to send us a photo of you, your family, a reunion photo, your cat, your dog, your pet iguana or any or all of the above. This page will really start to hop when there are lots of photos and lots of participation. I might encourage those who have sent their information to also go to the 'What Have You Been Up To' page and send us an account of what you have been doing since high school. It can be as long or as short as you want. There is lots of server space associated with this site, lets use up some of it.
12/6/2002: This evening I added a page which shows the photo taken last summer at the reunion, blown up for identification purposes. If you move your cursor around the photo and hold it over someone's face, a box will pop-up giving that persons name. This will probably not be of use to you who attended but it might be for others who graduated a year or two before or after you did to identify those they have not seen for years (just in case anybody is curious). I hope this is a helpful way to identify people in a photo. Once I get photos from other reunions, I'll do the same with them.
12/8/2002: Looks like I spoke too soon in my last update. Ray Martin wrote me telling me he could not get the page to work properly. After investigating for a while I found out that I had not uploaded the proper photo to the server. So if anybody reading this tried to take a look, now you know why you had difficulty. Sorry for any headaches that might have caused anybody.
12/14/2002: In case you hadn't come across it already, the information for James Young in the 'Contacts' page was added tonight and a picture of Tom & Gwen Everett was added to the 'Photo Gallery' page. Thanks for looking!
12/21/2002: There has been a comment made that perhaps the screen fades which I have implemented is not enhancing the experience but rather taking up time better spent at other things. If it is a consensus, I will remove the fades (this only applies to those using Internet Explorer as Netscape does not support the technology anyway). Let me know if you have a feeling one way or the other and I'll do whatever the majority wish. In case I don't have the opportunity before Christmas, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! My very best to you during this holiday season.
12/23/2002: A new feature has been implemented which may be of interest. It is called a 'Forum' or 'Message Board'. It is a place for discussions or comments or questions or gripes or whatever! Once you make a post, it is available for all others to read and they can respond to your comments. Go there and give it a try and see what you think. It is easy and painless and hopefully will be a place where classmates as well as visitors can have a dialog. You can access this new feature by clicking on the link referencing it in the 'Home' or 'Main' page, towards to bottom of the page or you can simply click here to check it out.
1/7/2003: It was decided to rename the 'Reunion' page to the 'Get-Togethers' page since there is a reunion only every 5 or 10 years and the page would be better used to announce upcoming events where classmates are getting together for whatever reason. Check it out!
1/10/2003: A link was recently added to the 'Main' page where you can get a quick glance at the time and temp (both Farenheit and Celsius) here in Rawlins. If you would like to see a forecast, simply click on the graphic and it will take you there. At the page that comes up, you can type in the name of any city and get the current conditions as well as a forecast. Hope this is an interesting addition to the site. If you have a favorite spot on the Internet and would like to have a link to it placed on the site (like your own personal website if you have one), just send it to me and I will get it posted somewhere. Until later...
3/14/2003: I added a feature to the main page where a different quote is printed for each day of the month. No huge contribution but perhaps something to raise your spirits or to give you a chuckle when you come to check things out. I'll try to update a few each month so they don't get too familiar.
3/28/2003: I added a waving flag to the table of contents for this page. I feel we should show our patriotism at times like this where our young men and women are putting their lives on the line. I truly hope this does not offend anyone and if it does, let me know and I will remove it. I do realize that not everybody in this world supports our actions in Iraq and that is really not what the flag is about anyway, it is about supporting our troops for what they are doing. If you have a feeling about this issue, please place it on the 'Forum'.
4/27/2003: I created a page for photos of the April 2003 Luncheon held April 27, 2003 at Jillian's in Denver. You can access it from the 'Gallery' page or the 'Get-Togethers' pages or simply by clicking here. The photos are courtesy of Joey Crawford. I thank her for the pictures and I'd appreciate it if you would thank her if you see her. Joey has been a driving force behind the monthly luncheons and has been very helpful getting information to me so I can post it on the website.
5/10/2003: I hope you noticed that a 'Navigation Control' has been added to the top of every page on this site. This is a device where you can easily load the previous page, reload the current page (to get the most recent version), load the next page and to get some simple instructions on using this control. Not revolutionary but perhaps a tool to make moving around in this site a little easier.
5/10/2003: Tiny Martin received a suggestion from Terry Jennings that an icon be added where a classmate could get the name and address of the person where the yearly $5.00 donation could be sent. I added just such a button labeled 'Where Do I Send My WebSite Donation?' to the main page as well as to the 'Contacts' page. I also added an icon to the table of contacts so it accessible no matter where you are which is labeled 'My Donation'. For anybody who cannot find the address, send your donations to: Don Pixler; P.O. Box 1287; Rawlins, WY; 82301.
12/13/2003: Tonight I added the contact and personal information for Crystal (Hancock) Perue. If you would like to see her information (address, e-mail, etc.), go to the main page, click on the 'Contacts' button, go to the bottom of the table and click on her name and it will take you to her informational page. Thanks for looking!
4/20/2004: Today I received the contact information from Jerry Bergstrand and I added it to the contact page tonight. If you would like to see his information (address, e-mail, etc.) click on the 'Contacts' button in the table of contents, go to the bottom of the table and click on his name and it will take you to his informational page. Thanks for looking!
